KIA K4 Wagon: spy photos reveal a roomy European estate

KIA is preparing to bring station wagons back to the European market. Spy photos of the new KIA K4 Wagon show the model almost without camouflage, revealing its generous proportions and a contemporary design. The estate is set to succeed the Ceed and serve as a more practical alternative to the Sportage crossover.

The front end stands out with vertical LED headlights and a slim grille, while the rear lamps are linked by a light bar. Its body proportions are closer to D-segment models than to true compacts—thanks to the car’s American roots. This promises a roomy cabin and an enlarged cargo area that surpasses even the Volkswagen Golf Variant.

Inside, two 12.3-inch displays are expected—one for the instruments and one for infotainment—along with rich equipment that includes a power tailgate and a broad set of driver-assistance features. Together, these elements point to a modern, user-friendly cockpit.

The powertrain lineup will stay petrol-focused: a base 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 115 hp, 1.6 T-GDI versions with 150 and 180 hp, and a mild-hybrid (MHEV). A next-generation self-charging hybrid is slated to arrive in 2027.

The KIA K4 Wagon revives the spirit of a proper estate—practical, comfortable, and with a dash of emotion. If pricing remains sensible, it could become KIA’s most popular family model in Europe.
