2026 Nissan Leaf proves its range: 498 km in Edmunds test
The new third-generation Nissan Leaf delivers 25% more range than before, reaching up to 487 km according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. That’s a meaningful step up from the 2025 Leaf SV Plus, which was rated at up to 340 km.
Real-world testing by Edmunds, however, suggests the car can go even farther.
A 2026 Nissan Leaf Platinum+ recently completed Edmunds’ EV range test, covering 498 km on a single charge. Notably, this result came from the Platinum+ trim, which carries an official EPA estimate of just 416 km.
Following its preliminary evaluations, Edmunds expects all 2026 Leaf trims to deliver significantly more range than their published specifications indicate.
On paper, the jump is already impressive; on the road, the Edmunds result is even more persuasive. It hints that the latest Leaf turns efficiency into tangible, everyday distance—something drivers will notice more than a number on a spec sheet.
