Tesla Model Y accidentally enters track at Buttonwillow Raceway Park during AMF motorcycle event
During a race sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Federation at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, an unusual scene unfolded: a Tesla Model Y entered the circuit and began traveling against the flow of competition until organizers spotted it and halted the session.
As reported by The Drive, the Tesla’s driver had likely simply gotten lost while trying to reach the nearby Supercharger. After the car was stopped, a marshal escorted it off the track, and the driver received a stern reprimand.
The event was briefly paused, and no one was hurt. Federation representatives noted that episodes like this highlight how critical access control is during live competition. The Tesla’s detour triggered a wave of jokes on social media, yet it also served as a clear reminder that even the most advanced city-focused EV can’t nullify human error—and on a racetrack, a single wrong turn is more than enough to raise the stakes.
