Chery's new Lepas brand launches in the UK with hybrid crossover

Chery International has confirmed the launch of its fourth automotive brand, Lepas, in the UK. The first vehicle under this brand is set to arrive in the country by the end of September 2026.

Lepas was introduced to the international market in the third quarter of last year. It was developed as a new energy vehicle brand specifically for the European market. The debut model in the UK is expected to be the Lepas L8 hybrid crossover.

According to the company, the L8 SHS version can travel up to 67 miles on electric power alone, with a total range reaching 808 miles. Lepas will focus on efficiency, comfort, and modern technology, leveraging a global platform tailored to meet European buyer expectations.

Chery is already expanding its presence in the UK, having previously launched the Omoda brand in August 2024, Jaecoo in January 2025, and Chery UK in summer 2025. At a dealer conference in January, the group stated that within 18 months of launching, it achieved a combined market share of 5.3%.
