Hyundai strengthens European market with new electric vehicles by 2026

Hyundai Motor Group aims to significantly strengthen its position in the European market by 2026, with a key focus on developing electric vehicles and sustainable mobility. The company views Europe as a priority region amid tightening environmental regulations and growing competition in the EV segment.

A central event will be the premiere of the fully electric Staria Electric minivan, scheduled for unveiling at the Brussels Motor Show in 2026. This model will become Hyundai's largest electric vehicle in Europe, complementing the existing EV lineup that ranges from compact city cars to large SUVs.

An important part of this strategy involves launching the new compact electric vehicle Ioniq 3, which is primarily targeted at European buyers. Production is planned to be established in Turkey to reduce logistics costs and enhance price competitiveness. This new model is expected to occupy the niche of affordable electric cars in the mass market segment.

Hyundai is also preparing an update for the Ioniq 6 model, improving its aerodynamics and digital features. The company will pay particular attention to the sporty versions of the N lineup, which will be used to strengthen the brand's image amid increasing competition from electric rivals.

In parallel, Hyundai continues to develop its hydrogen direction. The second generation of the fuel cell crossover NEXO is planned for market launch in early 2026.

Collectively, these steps reflect Hyundai's strategy to enhance its presence in Europe through new electric vehicles, local production, and an expanded technological portfolio.
