How BYD tunes Sealion suspension for Australia's conditions

BYD's Australian operations director, Stephen Collins, explained that adapting the Sealion 5 and Sealion 8 models involves checking key suspension metrics like ride comfort, vehicle stability, and damping stiffness. This process primarily follows European quality standards.

Another BYD representative, Paul Ellis, provided more details on what local suspension tuning entails. He noted that the factory suspension setup for these models was initially deemed insufficient for Australia's road conditions. To address this, the company opted for a stiffer European-style suspension that meets high reliability and stability requirements.

Once the first vehicle batches arrive in Australia, BYD plans to conduct additional suspension performance evaluations directly on the continent's roads. The test results will be sent back to the manufacturer in China for further design optimization.
