Ford Everest SUV seen in Detroit road tests
A Ford Everest SUV has been spotted undergoing road testing in the Detroit area again. This isn't the first time the model has been seen testing near Ford's Dearborn headquarters; prototypes were also recorded in 2021, though those vehicles were covered in camouflage.
This latest example is left-hand drive and unmasked, bearing manufacturer plates. Photographers managed to capture the vehicle's rear. Notable details include a special exhaust tip for emissions measurement and the absence of trim-level badges.
Despite this latest U.S. appearance, it doesn't necessarily mean the Everest is destined for the American market. Ford tests vehicles from various regions in Detroit because the company's main engineering center is located there.
Interest in the SUV remains strong. Some experts and bloggers openly question why the model isn't sold in the United States. Meanwhile, in other markets including Australia, the Ford Everest has received updates for the 2026 model year, featuring a new base Active version and a revised trim lineup.
