Geely Galaxy E8 electric sedan coming to the UK market
Geely is considering launching its flagship electric sedan, the Galaxy E8, in the UK market. The model is already on sale in China and could serve as a halo product to boost brand recognition.
Measuring over five meters in length, the Galaxy E8 has a width of 1,920 mm and a height of 1,465 mm. It is built on the PMA2+ platform and is comparable in size to the BMW i5 and Audi A6 e-tron. With a drag coefficient of 0.19, it is slightly more aerodynamic than the Mercedes EQS, which has a coefficient of 0.20.
In China, the sedan comes with LFP batteries in capacities of 62 kWh and 76 kWh. The single-motor version offers a range of up to 700 km on the CLTC cycle, while the dual-motor variant achieves up to 550 km. The top-of-the-line model delivers a maximum power output of 636 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
The interior features a 45-inch display that spans the entire width of the dashboard. In China, pricing starts at 188,000 yuan, roughly equivalent to £20,000, but UK prices are expected to be significantly higher. The model could arrive in British showrooms as early as next year, positioning itself as a key new offering and expanding Geely's presence in the premium segment.
