GM engine stalling investigation for 2024-2026 crossovers

General Motors has launched an investigation into unexpected engine stalling affecting 2024-2026 model year Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave crossovers. This information comes from a preliminary service bulletin, PIP6102, published in February 2026.

The bulletin applies to North American market vehicles equipped with the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine paired with an eight-speed GM automatic transmission. It lists all VINs within the specified model years, indicating the issue is not tied to a specific production period.

According to GM, the engine may stall after a remote start or during warm-up, particularly in cold ambient temperatures. In some instances, the engine can die immediately after the driver first selects Drive or Reverse.

The automaker states that the root cause remains undetermined. As the document is preliminary, an official repair procedure and parts list have not been released. Dealers are instructed to inform customers about the ongoing investigation. For now, owners are advised to simply restart the engine if a stall occurs. Following a restart, the vehicle should operate normally without further issues.
