BMW continues road testing the updated M5 Touring, which is set to debut in mid-2027. This time, a prototype was spotted near BMW M's headquarters in Germany, with spy photographers capturing not just the exterior but also getting a glimpse inside the cabin.

The wagon's interior focuses more on technology than aggression. The centerpiece is a panoramic dashboard architecture featuring the new iDrive X software and a large touchscreen measuring nearly 18 inches. This is complemented by a sporty multifunction steering wheel and a redesigned center console. The front seats promise enhanced lateral support, but the overall cabin style leans more toward premium and digital rather than race-inspired.

Externally, the M5 Touring Facelift shows a more aggressive front bumper with large air intakes and a narrow radiator grille. The wagon is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes, 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear, featuring tires up to 295 mm wide. At the back, four exhaust pipes and updated OLED taillight graphics stand out.

Technically, the model will remain a plug-in hybrid with a 4.4-liter biturbo V8, adapted to meet Euro 7 requirements. Total output will be around 727 horsepower, with an electric range reaching approximately 100 km. Engineers have reworked the settings for the suspension, steering, eight-speed automatic transmission, and the M xDrive system. For the market, this means retaining extreme power while offering greater versatility and compliance with new environmental standards.
