Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV debuts in Europe with 600 km range

Mitsubishi has officially brought the new Eclipse Cross EV to Europe, reviving the name of the 1990s coupé in a fully zero-emission format. Developed within the Nissan–Mitsubishi–Renault alliance, the model is built at Renault ElectriCity in Douai, France, and is already arriving at dealerships. The comeback of this badge in electric form feels like a timely move for the brand.

The crossover carries an 87 kWh battery rated for up to 600 km on the WLTP cycle. A single electric motor delivers 160 kW (about 215 hp) and 300 Nm of torque, while fast charging from 10 to 80% takes just 25 minutes at 150 kW. On paper, it’s a balanced mix of range and charging speed that should make daily use and longer trips straightforward.

Inside, the “smart cockpit” theme sets the tone: a 12.3-inch central display with Google Built-In supports voice control, Maps, and over-the-air updates. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are integrated with wireless connectivity, and audio comes from Harman Kardon. The setup promises a modern, streamlined interface without unnecessary complexity.

Safety is covered by a suite of 20 electronic assistants, including MI-Pilot and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The breadth of features reads comprehensive and in step with current expectations for the segment.

Mitsubishi president Takao Kato noted that the launch of the Eclipse Cross EV marks a key step in the company’s European electrification strategy and confirms its course toward carbon neutrality. The model has already been acknowledged as one of the most tech-forward EVs in its class, underscoring the brand’s intent to compete on innovation rather than headlines.
