Leapmotor production at Stellantis Spain plant starts 2026

Stellantis has officially confirmed that production of the Chinese brand Leapmotor will begin at its Figueruelas plant in Zaragoza. Manufacturing is scheduled to start in the second half of 2026. The first model to roll off the line will be the electric SUV B10, followed by the compact B05.

During the company's financial results presentation on February 26, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa announced the localization of production. The plant is already preparing a second assembly line for the new model. The Leapmotor B10 features an electric motor with 218 horsepower and is offered with battery capacities of 56.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh. Its WLTP range is 361 km and 434 km, respectively.

Currently, the factory produces the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa, and Lancia Ypsilon. Looking ahead, the collaboration between Stellantis and Leapmotor is set to expand, incorporating Chinese technology in batteries and powertrains.

The project has received support under the Perte VEC program, and a new company, LPMIB Automotive Spain, has been established for operations in Spain. The 2026 Leapmotor vehicles will be part of the conglomerate's strategy to develop electric mobility in Europe.
