Tesla raises Cybertruck AWD price by $10,000
Tesla has officially raised the price of the new Cybertruck AWD version from $59,990 to $69,990. This $10,000 increase, representing a 17% jump, took effect just 10 days after the model launched.
The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant with approximately 325 miles of range was initially marketed as the most affordable Cybertruck configuration. However, at its debut, Tesla announced the price would be valid for a limited time only, through the end of February.
After this period ended, the price reverted to $69,990. Simultaneously, Tesla removed the leasing option for this version.
Comparing it to the previous rear-wheel-drive model at the same $69,990 price point shows the new AWD offers richer equipment. This includes adaptive suspension, a powered tonneau cover, and V2X functionality.
In the longer term, however, the gap from the original 2019 promises remains significant. Back then, the dual-motor Cybertruck was priced at $49,900. Even accounting for inflation, the current price exceeds that initial benchmark.
This situation could impact brand perception and consumer trust, especially amid sales volumes that have been more modest than initially forecast.
