Hyundai KONA Electric: a compelling EV with a big discount
The electric Hyundai KONA remains one of the most compelling buys in the compact electric crossover segment. It has become even more attractive now, thanks to a discount of over €11,000 that brings its price closer to that of Chinese competitors.
Despite the rising popularity of new Chinese brands, the Korean electric crossover still offers key advantages: proven reliability, modern features, and a substantial driving range. This makes it a serious contender against models like the Omoda 5 EV.
The base Hyundai KONA Electric with a 65 kWh battery comes with a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor and 255 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 172 km/h. With a WLTP range of around 510 kilometers, it matches more expensive electric vehicles.
Even the entry-level Black Line trim is well-equipped, featuring LED lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an equally sized multimedia screen. It also includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, parking cameras, and a full suite of modern safety systems.
In Spain, the official price of the Hyundai KONA Electric is about €41,844. However, current promotions slash more than €11,000 off that, making it one of the best-value electric crossovers for 2026.
This significant price cut highlights the intensifying competition in the electric vehicle market. Manufacturers are being forced to aggressively lower prices to counter the rapidly growing number of Chinese electric cars.
