Skoda Octavia RS in India: sold out, next batch in early 2026
Skoda’s Octavia RS has sparked a genuine rush in India: the first batch of 100 cars was snapped up even before the price was officially announced. Every unit found a buyer on the very day pre-orders opened. The company has now confirmed a second batch of the performance sedan is scheduled to arrive in early 2026.
According to Ashish Gupta, Skoda India’s brand director, there are already around 350 orders for the Octavia RS. He noted that the manufacturer plans to fulfill these existing bookings first before reopening the order books, with priority going to customers who have already placed deposits.
The Octavia RS comes to India as a fully imported model at about $50,000. Under the hood sits a 2.0‑liter TSI turbo engine rated at 265 hp and 370 Nm, paired with a seven-speed DSG and front-wheel drive. The numbers point to lively performance, and the dual-clutch transmission should suit everyday traffic without dulling the car’s sharper side.
In essence, the Octavia RS serves as India’s counterpart to the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which has also sold out. Both appeal through a distinctly European character, strong outputs, and pricing that resonates with enthusiasts. Skoda expects the second allocation of Octavia RS sedans to vanish from showrooms as quickly as the first—and given the current momentum, that feels like a safe bet.
