Volvo V60 estate updated to meet Euro 7 standards with hybrid changes
Volvo has updated its V60 estate to meet the upcoming Euro 7 emissions standards, set to take effect in November 2026. To comply, the company has revised the hybrid version and reshuffled its powertrain lineup.
Previously, the V60 was available with a mild hybrid producing 197 hp, along with plug-in hybrid T6 and T8 variants rated at 350 hp and 455 hp, respectively. After the update, the T8 version will be discontinued, while the T6 remains but undergoes technical modifications.
The 2.0-liter gasoline engine now operates on the Miller cycle. Its power has dropped from 253 hp to 179 hp, and torque has decreased from 350 Nm to 280 Nm. Meanwhile, the electric motor gains strength, outputting 156 hp instead of the previous 145 hp. Combined system power now stands at 335 hp, down from 350 hp.
Engineers have also increased the usable battery capacity by 0.8 kWh. This boosts the electric-only range from 92 km to 98 km. Additionally, aerodynamics have been enhanced through a more efficient active grille shutter and revised wheel arch deflectors.
Despite the model's age, the Volvo V60 remains popular in the market. In 2026, it became the best-selling estate car in the Netherlands. These updates help the model maintain buyer interest amid tightening environmental regulations.
