Lexus LM500h 2026 model updates focus on passenger comfort
Lexus continues to refine its luxury minivan, the LM500h. The current generation debuted in 2023, but for the 2026 model year, the automaker has introduced several updates focused primarily on passenger comfort.
One notable addition is puddle lights at the base of the doors, which illuminate the ground when the sliding doors open. This feature is available on the top-tier four-seat Executive trim. Inside, the rear-seat refrigerator has been upgraded with flexible dividers that secure bottles of various sizes and prevent them from rattling while driving.
Changes also extend to the center console. The USB-C ports now support up to 60 watts of power, allowing passengers to charge smartphones more quickly or even power a laptop during trips. Additionally, Lexus engineers have addressed acoustic comfort—the Executive and Version L trims feature a new tire tread pattern designed to reduce road noise.
Under the hood, the powertrain remains unchanged. The LM500h uses a hybrid system with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined 366 horsepower. The vehicle comes with all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. The updated model is already on sale in Japan, where it continues to compete with the most luxurious minivans in the premium segment.
Overall, the Lexus LM has long been a symbol of mobile business-class travel on wheels, and the brand is wisely focusing on the details. Improvements like quieter tires, a thoughtfully designed refrigerator, and high-power USB ports might seem minor, but these elements are what create a genuine premium experience for passengers.
