Stellantis service campaign for BlueHDi diesel engine recall
Stellantis has announced a major service campaign affecting over 50,000 vehicles across several of its brands. The issue stems from a potential defect in the common rail injection system of the BlueHDi DV5 diesel engine, prompting a recall for cars manufactured between July and October 2025.
This campaign includes models from Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Opel, and Fiat. Well-known vehicles like the Peugeot 308, Citroën Berlingo, Opel Astra, and Fiat Doblò are among those affected, along with a range of other cars. According to the manufacturer, the problem lies in the incorrect positioning of a component within the injection system, which could loosen high-pressure pipe fittings and potentially cause fuel leaks in the engine bay.
Although no fires have been reported so far, the company is proceeding with this preventive measure. Owners are advised to watch for warning signs such as the engine light illuminating, rough idling, starting difficulties, reduced power, or increased fuel consumption. Repairs will be carried out free of charge at authorized service centers.
The fix takes between 20 and 90 minutes, depending on the model. Technicians will replace injection system components and high-pressure fuel lines as needed. Stellantis had previously extended the warranty on BlueHDi engines to 10 years or 240,000 kilometers for units produced from 2017 to 2023.
Large-scale service campaigns are becoming common in today's automotive industry. This proactive approach helps manufacturers address potential issues early and maintain customer trust.
