Tesla Robotaxi service launches in Las Vegas with autonomous Model Y vehicles

Tesla is preparing to expand its Robotaxi service to a new U.S. city, with Las Vegas emerging as the likely next launch site. A fleet of Model Y vehicles equipped for autonomous operation has already been spotted in the area.

Previously, the service operated only in Austin and the San Francisco Bay Area. The appearance of these vehicles in Henderson, near Las Vegas, suggests preparations are underway. A key feature of these cars is the rear camera washer system, which is used specifically for the Robotaxi service.

Tesla had earlier announced plans to expand the service to several U.S. cities, including Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Miami, and Las Vegas. This new launch marks an important step in the project's development, allowing the company to move beyond its current regions. Las Vegas is seen as a promising market due to high demand for ride-hailing services. Additionally, Tesla faces competition there from Waymo, which already operates in the city.

The expansion of Robotaxi highlights growing interest in autonomous technology and strengthens the role of electric vehicles in urban transportation, positioning them as part of future infrastructure.
