BMW M5 facelift preview with Neue Klasse design elements
BMW is preparing an update for its G90/G99 generation M5 models, expected to arrive in 2027–2028. Prototypes of both the sedan and touring versions are already undergoing testing at the Nürburgring.
Spy photos reveal that the facelift will focus on exterior design. The cars will feature new headlights, a smaller kidney grille, a redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes, and a revised rear end with updated taillights.
The styling incorporates elements of BMW's Neue Klasse design philosophy, which the brand is actively implementing in future models. This update will affect not only electric vehicles but also existing models with traditional powertrains.
The test vehicles were spotted at BMW's Nürburgring facility ahead of the new testing season. They were accompanied by pre-facelift versions, allowing for a direct comparison of the changes.
BMW is gradually rolling out this new style across its lineup, accelerating model updates. This confirms a trend where vehicles from 2026 onward will share a unified design language and technological solutions, regardless of their powertrain type.
