Audacious Automotive revives Audi Quattro with RS4 platform

The legendary Audi Quattro has been given new life by British startup Audacious Automotive. This project blends the classic design of the iconic model with the modern technical underpinnings of the Audi RS4.

Concept and Technology

At its core lies the platform from the B7-generation RS4, featuring a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8. However, the engine has been modified and fitted with a supercharger, boosting power to at least 600 horsepower.

The project's main goal is to preserve the car's analog character. That's why it uses a manual transmission and a classic all-wheel-drive system with a rear-biased setup.

Design and Construction

The body is built from scratch and draws inspiration from the rally-bred Quattro Group B. Engineers have managed to reduce the car's weight by at least 250 kilograms compared to the donor RS4.

Every body element serves a functional purpose—the air intakes and aerodynamic features are not just for show. A future version with carbon fiber panels is planned.

Positioning and Market

The project starts at £350,000, with each car being individually assembled. Donor vehicles requiring extensive restoration are used as a base.

This project's emergence highlights a growing interest in analog sports cars. Against a backdrop of increasing digitalization and electrification, a segment of buyers is increasingly seeking the emotional and mechanical engagement that modern cars are gradually losing.
