Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Formula E World Champion: exclusive electric car
Porsche has unveiled a unique version of the Taycan Turbo GT electric car, created to celebrate the brand's victory in the 2024/2025 Formula E championship. Called the Formula E World Champion, this new model is an exclusive project developed jointly by Porsche Motorsport and the Sonderwunsch personalization program.
Exclusive and Not for Sale
This Taycan is a one-off example that won't be available for purchase, not even in a limited production run. However, Porsche leaves open the possibility of recreating a similar car through its personalization program, which essentially allows customers to build a very close replica.
The project revives a brand tradition of releasing special edition cars to mark sporting achievements. In the past, such models often had a closer technical connection to racing machinery, but now the focus has shifted more toward design and personalization.
Tech and Performance
At its core lies the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package—the most extreme version of the model. The electric car develops up to 1,034 horsepower with a temporary power boost, which in its logic resembles the Attack Mode used in Formula E race cars.
The car also benefits from a weight reduction of around 70 kg, which improves dynamics and handling. This Taycan is already serving as the safety car in the championship, underscoring its proximity to racing technology.
Design and Details
Special attention has been paid to both exterior and interior styling. The car is painted in the signature colors of the Porsche 99X Electric race car, including a combination of black and Purple Sky, and features unique elements like multicolored wheel center caps.
Inside, there are personalized touches: racing car logos on the headrests, a special steering wheel, and a Sonderwunsch plaque. All of this creates the impression of a car that comes as close as possible to a Formula E racer while being adapted for public roads.
Overall, the Taycan Turbo GT Formula E World Champion isn't just a show car. It demonstrates Porsche's capabilities in personalization and electric vehicles, where technology and emotion continue to go hand in hand.
