Audi RS3 GT spied at the Nürburgring: farewell five-cylinder hot hatch

Audi is preparing a farewell GT-badged RS3 hatchback, set to be the brand’s last model with its storied five-cylinder engine. A prototype was spotted testing at the Nürburgring, where the car revealed updated aerodynamics and reinforced brakes.

Footage shows the RS3 GT riding on a lowered suspension with larger air intakes, a more aggressive body kit, and a new front spoiler. The package is aimed at track driving yet remains fully road-legal. Even at a glance, the stance and aero tweaks suggest this is more than a cosmetic send-off.

Under the hood, the familiar 2.5-liter turbocharged engine is expected to deliver 394 hp and 500 Nm of torque, although Audi Sport had previously hinted that output might be increased. The countdown is on for this powertrain: the company has confirmed it will not outlast the Euro 7 emissions standard, which takes effect in November 2027.

The RS3 GT is likely to be among the standout performance cars of 2026, drawing a line under Audi’s era of iconic five-cylinder engines.
