Honda 2026 models achieve high safety ratings
Honda continues to strengthen its reputation as a manufacturer of safe vehicles. In the latest IIHS ratings, four 2026 models received high marks, including two with the highest possible score.
Two Models Earn Top Honors
The Passport and HR-V crossovers earned the Top Safety Pick+ award. To achieve this, they demonstrated strong performance not just in crash tests but also in collision avoidance systems.
Special attention was given to pedestrian protection and how driver-assist systems function in real-world conditions. This makes these models some of the safest offerings in their respective segments.
Mainstream Models Also Make the List
The Civic Hatchback and Accord received Top Safety Pick ratings, confirming high safety standards in more affordable classes. All four models showed excellent results in frontal and side crash tests.
Notably, the HR-V remains one of the most accessible options, starting below $30,000. This enhances Honda's competitiveness in the mass market.
A Systematic Approach to Safety
All models come equipped with the Honda Sensing suite, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Since 2014, this system has been implemented in over 10 million vehicles in the U.S.
Additionally, these vehicles feature reinforced body structures and an expanded set of airbags. This provides a high level of protection for both drivers and passengers.
Overall, Honda demonstrates a systematic approach to safety, making it a key selling point even in its more affordable models and strengthening its position in the global market.
