New Volkswagen T-Roc R crossover with 333 horsepower for 2026

Volkswagen is preparing to unveil the new generation of its T-Roc R crossover. The model is already undergoing testing at the Nürburgring and could debut in spring 2026, with sales expected to start in summer.

The performance version features a redesigned front bumper, larger air intakes, and an updated diffuser. It also stands out with four exhaust pipes and blue brake calipers. The lowered suspension should enhance handling.

The T-Roc R is expected to get a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing around 333 horsepower. It will be paired with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system and a 7-speed DSG transmission. Torque vectoring and a drift mode are possible features.

This model is positioned as one of the 2026 sports cars in the compact SUV segment. However, Volkswagen does not plan to launch it in the U.S. market. The T-Roc R will maintain its status as the top version in the lineup and continue the development of gasoline-powered performance crossovers.
