Kia EV2: new electric crossover with flexible production in Europe
Kia has launched serial production of its new EV2 electric crossover at its plant in Slovakia. This model becomes the brand's second electric vehicle assembled in Europe, following the EV4.
The production became possible after a factory upgrade in 2025. The plant now features flexible lines that allow for the manufacturing of electric vehicles, hybrids, and internal combustion engine cars on a single platform.
The Kia EV2 targets the compact crossover segment and offers two battery versions: a 42.2 kWh battery with a range of up to 317 km and a 61 kWh battery with a range of up to 453 km. It supports fast charging, along with Plug & Charge functionality and bidirectional charging.
Despite its compact dimensions, the model features a spacious interior, sliding rear seats, and a trunk capacity of up to 403 liters. Its equipment includes digital displays, over-the-air updates, and driver assistance systems.
The new EV2 strengthens the brand's position in the urban electric car segment and is designed for everyday use. The Žilina plant remains Kia's key production hub in Europe, supplying vehicles to dozens of markets.
