Rising destination charges for Ford and GM pickups and SUVs

In recent years, the cost of delivering new vehicles to the U.S. has been steadily rising, particularly for buyers of full-size pickups and SUVs from Ford and General Motors.

Now, it has emerged that these two major automakers have increased the destination charge for their full-size SUVs and pickups to up to $2,795 for shipments from factories to dealerships.

This detail matters because it highlights that Cadillac, which is part of General Motors, charges an even higher fee for the Escalade, at $2,895.

For comparison, Ram and Toyota take less for delivering their vehicles in the U.S., but not by much. The Ram 1500's destination charge is $2,595, while Toyota charges $2,095 for factory delivery of the Tundra.
