Toyota starts production of the Aygo X Hybrid in Kolín
Production of the new Aygo X Hybrid has started at Toyota’s plant in Kolín, Czechia. The model stands out as the only full hybrid in its segment and claims best-in-class CO₂ figures, further broadening Toyota’s electrified lineup. It’s a measured move that shows the brand doubling down on efficiency where it matters most day to day.
The Aygo X Hybrid is also Toyota’s most affordable model in Europe. Making the entry point to the brand a hybrid by default feels like a clear signal: electrification here isn’t an optional extra, it’s the baseline.
About 3,200 people work at the facility where Aygo X Hybrid production has begun. It is reported that since the plant’s founding in 2022, more than 2.3 million Toyota vehicles have been assembled there, including the Aygo, Aygo X, and Yaris. The site is also preparing for future production of battery electric vehicles (BEV), a practical step that keeps Toyota agile across powertrains as the market evolves.
