Bentley Bentayga X: production version under consideration

Bentley is considering launching a production version of the Bentayga X Concept—an off-road SUV with 31 cm of ground clearance and a 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 641 horsepower. The concept was shown to dealers in 2026, and the response was clear: the model should be brought to market. A decision could be made soon.

Dealers Demand a Production Version

Bentley initially developed the Bentayga X as a concept to gauge demand. However, after presenting it to the dealer network in North America, the brand received a direct request to put it into production. According to management, the model could become a limited series, similar to Bentley's previous special editions.

Off-Road Capabilities

The Bentayga X has undergone significant modifications for off-road use. Ground clearance has been increased to 31 cm, wading depth to 61 cm, and the track widened by 12.7 cm. The SUV is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 641 horsepower, along with extended wheel arches and off-road suspension tuning.

A Response to the G-Class

Bentley is entering the segment of luxury SUVs with enhanced off-road capabilities. The main benchmark is the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, which has been achieving record sales. BMW and Audi are also considering similar projects, confirming a new trend: even premium SUVs are becoming more off-road oriented.

The Bentley Bentayga X could establish a new format in the segment—combining luxury with genuine off-road capability. Demand already exists, and now the decision hinges on the brand's strategy in competing for a new class of customers.
