Toyota recalls 126,691 Tundra and Lexus models over engine metal shavings
Fresh auto news from the United States: Toyota has launched a large-scale service campaign for Tundra pickups and related Lexus models. In total, 126,691 vehicles sold on the American market are affected. The issue is serious: traces of manufacturing metal shavings were found in some engines, which can disrupt engine operation and, in extreme cases, cause a sudden stall while the vehicle is in motion. It’s the kind of fault that, even if rare, feels alarming on the road and quickly undermines driver confidence.
According to SPEEDME.RU, citing the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Toyota’s engineers are finalizing the repair protocol, and dealers will begin fixing the defect as soon as it’s approved. All work will be free for owners. The swift move to define the remedy and cover the costs suggests the company aims to get ahead of the problem—pragmatic when a high-profile pickup is involved.
