Renault Symbioz hybrid crossover details for Australian market
This vehicle will be Renault's first full hybrid offering in the Australian market, positioning itself as an intriguing option among contemporary cars in its class.
The Renault Symbioz measures 4412 mm in overall length and 1797 mm in width, dimensions that place it in the same ballpark as popular models like the Toyota Corolla Cross.
In its mild-hybrid configuration, the Symbioz uses a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 104 kW and 245 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a small electric motor.
Additionally, the crossover will be available in a full-hybrid variant. This version combines a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter petrol engine with 80 kW and 107 Nm, an electric motor delivering 36 kW and 205 Nm, and a 1.4 kWh battery pack.
The Symbioz's interior space is reminiscent of the previous-generation Renault Captur. The cabin features modern digital tech, including a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system that supports integration with popular Google services. This setup allows users to comfortably manage the system through Android Auto and other applications.
In practice, this means the new model is expected to carry a price tag of around $40,000 on the Australian market. This pricing makes it accessible to a broad range of buyers interested in a modern compact crossover that promises high efficiency and user-friendly operation.
