BMW sales leaders in Germany: X1 and X3 dominate in 2026

In March 2026, two popular models dominated BMW's sales in the German market. The compact X1 crossover and its electric iX1 variant led the pack with 4,620 new registrations. Close behind was the midsize X3 crossover and its electric iX3 sibling, which recorded 3,795 units sold.

Other notable performers included the 5-Series sedan with 3,117 units and the 3-Series with 2,499. The 4-Series followed with 2,399 registrations. However, the rest of BMW's lineup trailed significantly behind these sales leaders.

Looking at the broader picture for the first quarter of 2026, the compact X1 remained the top seller with 10,618 registered vehicles. The X3 came in second with 9,191 units, while the 5-Series sedan rounded out the top three with 7,889 cars sold.
