2027 Corvette Stingray Z51 performance package upgrades

The 2027 Corvette Stingray will see updates to its Z51 Performance package.

One of the most significant changes for the 2027 Z51 package is a switch to a shorter final drive ratio—5.56:1 compared to the 5.17:1 used on Z51-equipped models from 2020 through 2026. For context, the standard 2027 Stingray retains a 4.89:1 ratio, unchanged since launch.

This shorter final drive is expected to improve acceleration, though General Motors has not yet released official performance figures. Currently, the C8 Stingray with the Z51 package hits 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

The 2027 Z51 Performance package also includes an updated eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. While the base C8 Corvette Stingray uses the M1L gearbox, Z51 models get the enhanced M1N transmission paired with that shorter rear axle ratio.

Other upgrades include revised Magnetic Ride Control suspension tuning, tweaked aerodynamic elements, and new Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires. Notably, both the 2027 Z51-equipped Stingray and the new C8 Grand Sport share the same 5.56:1 rear axle ratio and M1N transmission.

The 2027 Z51 Performance Package carries a price tag of $5,395.
