2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid: familiar Outlander PHEV DNA
Nissan has introduced the 2026 Rogue Plug-In Hybrid ahead of its official debut—and the newcomer turns out to be far more familiar than expected. The crossover essentially mirrors the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, sharing its platform and complete plug-in setup. Aside from a revised grille and darker exterior accents, changes are minimal; the resemblance is impossible to miss.
Powertrain details include a system built around a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, two electric motors, and a 16.8-kWh battery. Combined output is 248 hp, with all-wheel drive as standard. The EV-only range is 61 km, and total range is about 670 km. There’s no fast charging; a home wallbox will replenish the battery in roughly 7.5 hours. That omission stands out today.
The interior also comes straight from Mitsubishi—and, notably, from the 2025 Outlander rather than the updated 2026. Instead of the newer 12.3-inch infotainment setup, it sticks with the older 9-inch display and a Bose audio system. It remains a seven-seat layout with the same cargo space.
On the features front, the Rogue PHEV aligns with the brand’s norms: ProPilot Assist 1.1, surround view, and a full suite of electronic driver aids. Sales are set to begin in early 2026, with a preliminary price around $49,000—comparable to the Outlander PHEV SEL.
