DS N°8 Now Features Plug & Charge for Simplified Fast Charging

Thanks to the Plug & Charge function, part of the Free2Move Charge ecosystem, the DS N°8 now comes standard with simpler, more convenient, and safer charging at fast-charging stations, starting with models built from early April.

With Plug & Charge, you simply connect the DS N°8 to a fast-charging point compatible with the Free2Move Charge network and launch the Free2Move Charge app: charging starts automatically, without any additional steps, badge, card, or restrictions. There’s no need to identify yourself manually; everything happens automatically via the car, which has a digital certificate that lets the terminal identify the user’s account, start charging, and manage billing. This greatly simplifies the charging process.

The Free2Move Charge service provides access to over 1,000,000 charging stations across Europe, including more than 50,000 fast-charging stations supporting Plug & Charge. With the Free2Move Charge app, available in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Austria, you can find charging stations, check their power output, and manage charging sessions.

All versions of the DS N°8 come standard with an 11 kW onboard charger. Since the start of April, a three-phase 22 kW onboard charger option has been available for the DS N°8, further reducing charging times. 22 kW charging stations are widely spread across Europe and help cut charging time, making EV use even more convenient. They are typically located in city centers, shopping malls, or public parking lots. With them, you can easily charge the battery up to 80% without needing to use supercharger stations, which are rarer outside highway networks and often have a higher price per kilowatt-hour.

Along with a range of up to 750 km under the WLTP cycle (500 km on the highway), the DS N°8 boasts particularly high charging speed, making electric journeys more comfortable and stress-free. The DS N°8 FWD (with a 73.7 kWh battery) with the 22 kW three-phase charger can go from 20% to 80% in just 2 hours 35 minutes, while using an 11 kW charging station takes 4 hours 55 minutes. For the FWD LONG RANGE version (97.2 kWh battery), the same exercise takes 3 hours 20 minutes at 22 kW compared to 6 hours 10 minutes at 11 kW.

The 22 kW onboard charger is available as an option for the FWD, FWD LONG RANGE, AWD LONG RANGE versions, as well as for the PALLAS and ETOILE specifications, at a price of €900.
