BMW M5 and M2 CS Unveiled at 2026 Beijing Auto Show
At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BMW unveiled new versions of its M performance models: the BMW M5 sedan and the BMW M2 CS coupe.
The new-generation BMW M5 features a hybrid powertrain based on a V8 and an electric motor. Total system output exceeds 700 hp, and the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system sends torque to all four wheels. Exterior updates include revised aerodynamics, larger air intakes, and a sporty body kit. Inside, it gets a digital instrument cluster, a sport steering wheel, and carbon-fiber trim.
The BMW M2 CS is aimed at track use. It has a lighter construction thanks to carbon fiber components in both the body and interior. Power comes from a turbocharged inline-six engine, paired with an upgraded suspension and stronger brakes. Visually, it stands out with widened wheel arches, an aggressive front bumper, and unique alloy wheels.
These new models reinforce BMW's strategy for its performance cars, with a focus on electrification and weight reduction. The debuts were part of the brand's display at one of the world's biggest auto shows.
