Chrysler Considers Production for Pacifica Grizzly Peak Off-Road Minivan

Chrysler is considering putting the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept into production—an unusual off-road minivan that could carve out a unique niche between crossovers and campers. The model was first shown in 2025, and now, according to insiders, the project has gained traction within the company.

The core idea is to offer an alternative to traditional SUVs and large motorhomes. The Pacifica already comes with all-wheel drive, making it a solid base for an off-road variant. The AWD system uses a transfer case and a rear module with a clutch, redistributing torque to the rear axle when slippage occurs.

The concept features serious suspension work: ground clearance is up by nearly 7 cm, and it rides on BFGoodrich off-road tires with 18-inch wheels. The look is completed by a roof rack, extra lighting, expedition gear, and body protection. Inside, the rear seats are replaced by a module for storage or a sleeping area, making it travel-ready.

Under the hood, expect the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 without a hybrid option, as the plug-in variant is reportedly being dropped for the next generation. That means a focus on proven mechanicals rather than electrification.

If the project reaches production, Chrysler could create a new segment—off-road minivans. In a crowded crossover market, this format seems surprising but logical: practicality, space, and off-road capability in one package could attract a new audience.
