Opel Mokka GSE takes Golden Steering Wheel 2025 for best small EV

Opel Mokka GSE has claimed the Golden Steering Wheel 2025 as the best small electric model. It scored 3,345 points, finishing 432 points ahead of its closest competitors. The car is powered by an electric motor rated at 281 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. A 54 kWh battery provides a WLTP range of 336 km.

The GSE is the fastest series-produced electric Opel to date. It backs up its performance with brakes featuring four-piston calipers and supportive sport seats. Intelli-Lux Matrix lighting enhances visibility, while a 180-degree camera makes tight maneuvers easier. On paper, the setup suggests a small EV aimed not only at quick getaways but also at confident control when you decide to use that punch.

The prize was awarded by the AUTO BILD and BILD am SONNTAG jury, which evaluates innovation and build quality. This is Opel’s 22nd win in the history of the award, and the model helps cement the brand’s position among new-generation compact electric crossovers.
