BMW iX3 Range: Tire Options Yield 383 to 434 Miles
The optional 20-inch summer tires, available at no extra cost, give the new BMW iX3 an impressive claimed range of 434 miles. However, the standard fitment is 20-inch all-seasons, which drop the range to 383 miles. Most buyers will likely opt for the default tires, meaning their window sticker will show the lower figure.
Moving up to 21-inch wheels brings more consistent numbers. Summer rubber yields 398 miles, while the all-season variant on the same rims delivers 399 miles—a negligible one-mile difference that falls within the test's margin of error.
Step up to 22-inch summer tires and the range dips slightly to 392 miles. That's only six miles less than the 21-inch summer setup, and interestingly, it still beats the standard 20-inch all-season tires' 383 miles.
Whether these figures translate to real-world driving—at highway speeds, in winter cold, with the heater running—remains an open question. The EPA's summer-tire estimates are optimistic by nature. Still, even the base 383-mile range outpoints any other BMW EV currently sold in the U.S.
