The Lafa 5 is built on the LEAP 3.5 platform, the same architecture that underpins the Leapmotor B10 crossover and the B01 sedan. The hatchback measures 4,430 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,520 mm in height. Its wheelbase matches its siblings at 2,735 mm. Cargo space comes in at 435 liters (the crossover offers 420 liters, the sedan 460 liters), and there is no additional storage under the hood.

Styling is in the brand’s key: lighting with discrete LED strokes, frameless doors with flush handles, and 19-inch wheels. Inside, the Lafa 5 largely mirrors its relatives. There’s a familiar dashboard with vertical side air vents, a two-spoke steering wheel, and separate displays for the instrument cluster (8.8 inches) and the multimedia system (14.6 inches). The two-tier center tunnel repeats the B01 electric sedan’s layout, while the crossover uses a floating console. Nappa leather can be specified instead of eco-leather, and a dedicated table for the front passenger is also available.

The hatch is rear-wheel drive only, sharing its hardware with the brand’s other models. The entry version places a 180-hp motor (175 Nm) on the rear axle; other trims use a 218-hp unit (240 Nm). In total, there are five configurations. Three of them carry a 56.2-kWh battery good for 515 km on the CLTC cycle, while the remaining versions feature a 67.1-kWh pack with a claimed 605 km on CLTC. The numbers look encouraging on paper, and the rear-drive setup should suit this format well.
