Tesla FSD Supervised Moves Toward Approval in Ireland

Tesla is pushing its FSD technology across Europe, and it has now emerged that the system could be heading to Ireland. Discussions are already taking place there.

On May 10, the Irish Department of Transport confirmed that Tesla is actively working with local authorities, including the National Standards Authority of Ireland, to secure approval for its FSD Supervised system.

While the department noted that full deployment of FSD in Ireland will ultimately depend on EU-level approval, this collaboration marks a significant step forward in Tesla's European expansion strategy.

In April, the Netherlands Vehicle Supervision Authority issued the first-ever EU permit for the FSD Supervised system, following 18 months of rigorous testing on public roads and racetracks. The preliminary approval allows the system to be used on all Dutch roads, and Tesla has already begun rolling it out to some owners after mandatory safety training.
