XPeng X9 hybrid EREV: the longest-range seven-seat minivan
Launched in 2023, the XPeng X9 started life as a pure electric model. Now it’s joined by a hybrid EREV variant. You can tell them apart at a glance by the front bumper: the hybrid features more black accents and reshaped air intakes. There’s also an exclusive Aurora blue paint option. Otherwise, the two versions mirror each other, with the darker nose subtly sharpening the van’s look.
The dimensions are unchanged: length 5316 mm, width 1988 mm, height 1785 mm, and a 3160 mm wheelbase. Inside, the steering wheel has been updated—its central section and side buttons are redesigned and framed in chrome, a small tweak that freshens the main touchpoint without disturbing the familiar layout.
In keeping with its class, the hybrid XPeng X9 arrives well equipped. It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P alongside three Turing AI chips to power advanced features, from smart assistants to driver aids and autonomous driving. Three interior themes are available, and the hardware combination hints at generous computing headroom.
The headline change is the hybrid powertrain. Under the EREV’s hood sits a 1.5‑liter turbocharged DAM15NTE petrol engine (150 hp) with 43.06% efficiency. Drive is delivered by a 286‑hp electric motor, keeping the emphasis on smooth, electric-led propulsion.
The 63.3‑kWh battery provides up to 452 km of electric range and up to 1,602 km in hybrid mode, making the XPeng X9 the longest‑range seven‑seat minivan. Average fuel consumption is 6.4 l/100 km, and a 10‑minute charge restores up to 313 km of range—numbers that aim squarely at effortless family road trips.
