Ferrari has trademarked the name FX-100, which could be for a new extreme model. No official specs have been released yet, but the moniker hints at a connection to limited track programs. The FX designation recalls the 1995 Ferrari FX concept built for the Sultan of Brunei. That car was powered by a 4,943 cc V12 from the Testarossa producing 440 hp, paired with a seven-speed sequential gearbox linked to Formula 1 technology.

The new name might also reference the XX program. In 2005, Ferrari introduced the FXX based on the Enzo, limited to 30 units. Later came the FXX K, based on the LaFerrari, which was not road-legal and only used in the FXX K program's events. The FXX K featured a hybrid powertrain with a combined 1,050 hp: 860 hp from the V12 and 190 hp from the electric motor. In 2017, Ferrari unveiled the FXX-K Evo with more advanced aerodynamics. In 2023, the brand launched the SF90 XX Stradale, a road car with elements from that program.

The number 100 in FX-100 could point to 2029, when Scuderia Ferrari celebrates its 100th anniversary. If the project arrives for that milestone, it might become one of the rarest sports cars of all.
