Brabus Bodo: A 1000-HP Tribute to the Founder Based on the Aston Martin Vanquish

Brabus has unveiled the Bodo, a large GT coupe based on the Aston Martin Vanquish. The car is named after company founder Bodo Buschmann, who dreamed of a true grand tourer rather than just a tuned engine and body kit.

The Bodo retains the Vanquish's roofline but little else. Brabus crafted a new carbon-fiber body with a boat-tail rear, a prominent grille, a deep front splitter, and a vented hood. The car is finished in black and sits on 21-inch Monoblock wheels. The brakes use six-piston calipers up front and four-piston at the rear.

Inside, the Aston Martin center console, digital instrument panel, and steering wheel carry over. Brabus adds quilted seats, carbon-fiber accents, and Mercedes-style air vents.

Power comes from a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12. With new turbochargers, reworked cylinder heads, a revised fuel system, and a new exhaust, output climbs to 1000 hp. Torque is 1200 Nm. The coupe hits 60 mph in 3 seconds, and top speed is electronically limited to 359 km/h (223 mph).

Brabus will produce just 77 examples of the Bodo, building 10 to 15 per year. The price has not been announced.
