The central idea behind the Z/Z is splitting the car into two halves. Designer Camacho took inspiration from the classic BMW kidney grilles, which have a noticeable gap between them, and applied that logic to the entire body. The result is a roadster that visually seems to grow from two symmetrical forms.

The concept offers three modes. In Mono, only the driver's seat is exposed, giving it the look of a single-seat speedster like the Ferrari Monza SP1. In Duo, a passenger seat appears. In Sleep, both seats retract under the body panels, turning the roadster into a nearly smooth art object on wheels.

The electric platform allows for a very low and clean body, free of unnecessary air intakes and complex lines. The wheels are fully exposed, and the surface runs from nose to tail with almost no interruptions. Compared to the overloaded design of modern BMWs, this project looks surprisingly calm.

Inside, the cabin blends old and new school. There are analog switches and a two-spoke steering wheel wrapped in bright blue leather, but some information is projected not onto a conventional screen but into special helmets for the driver and passenger.

The BMW Z/Z is not an official project and won't go into production. However, it has something real concepts often lack: a simple idea carried through to its conclusion. A single grille became not just a decoration but the architecture of the entire car.
