Chery is making another push into Europe, this time under the Exlantix brand. The sibling marque to Omoda, Jaecoo, and Lepas is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2027, and the new RX Concept previews the design direction for its upcoming models.

Exlantix is positioned as Chery's most technologically advanced and avant-garde brand. That's a significant statement for the European market, where Chinese automakers are no longer sticking to affordable crossovers but are moving upmarket, targeting buyers who care about design, comfort, electrification, and digital features.

The RX Concept isn't a production car, but it sets the tone for the next decade. Its exterior was penned by Christos Pavlidis, a former Ferrari designer. The new design language is called Perpetua, and it emphasizes smooth proportions, sculpted surfaces, and a clean, dynamic look without unnecessary clutter.

At launch, Exlantix is expected to offer the ES and ET models. Both will initially come with all-electric powertrains, with plug-in hybrids joining the lineup later. The brand has also revealed the Shooting Brake ES GT, which should diversify the range and move it beyond a typical SUV-heavy lineup.

For Chery, Exlantix is a chance to prove that a Chinese car in Europe can be more than just a good value—it can also be a desirable image product. The success of Omoda and Jaecoo has given the company the confidence to expand quickly. The real question now is whether European buyers are ready to see yet another Chinese brand not as a newcomer, but as a technology-driven alternative to established premium automakers.
