CUPRA has opened orders for the Raval in the United Kingdom. This compact electric hatchback is built on Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform and aims to make the brand more accessible to mainstream buyers without losing its sporty character.

The range kicks off with the Origin trim, featuring a 37 kWh battery and a 115 hp motor, priced at £23,785 (about $32,000). Next comes the V1, which uses the same battery but pumps out 135 hp, at £26,995. The V2 version costs £29,580.

The real draw, however, is the 52 kWh battery variants. These qualify for the UK government’s electric car grant. The V1 52 kWh, with 210 hp, comes in at £28,495 after the grant, while the V2 costs £31,080. That same price applies to the limited V2 Launch Edition, which adds £1,500 worth of extra equipment at no additional charge. At the top end, the VZ and VZ Extreme pack 225 hp and are priced at £33,495 and £34,810, respectively.

To sweeten the deal for early adopters, CUPRA is offering several incentives. Buyers of the 52 kWh Raval who order before August 31, 2026, get a free standard metallic paint job. Those who opt for a premium metallic or matte finish receive a £695 discount. Additionally, the first 100 private customers will receive a Harper Collective x CUPRA suitcase worth £1,125, crafted from recycled ocean plastic.

The Raval is more than just a new model for CUPRA. It represents the brand’s push into the affordable urban EV segment, where price is paramount. CUPRA already has design and a sporty image, but now it must demonstrate that a small electric car can offer character, not just practicality.
