Lotus Emira 420 Sport: the lightest and most powerful Emira yet
The Lotus Emira 420 Sport: lightest and most powerful Emira with 414 hp, 0-100 in 3.9s, 299 km/h top speed. Deliveries start August 2026.
The Lotus Emira was supposed to be the brand’s farewell to gasoline sports cars, but the story is now taking a different turn. The new Emira 420 Sport is the lightest and most powerful version of the model, with first deliveries starting in August 2026.
According to 32CARS.RU, the coupe gets a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 414 hp and 500 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 299 km/h. For the Emira, this isn’t just a numbers game: the 420 Sport is 25 kg lighter than the Emira Turbo and delivers 25 kg more downforce thanks to the Lightweight Handling Pack.
Lotus added carbon fiber components, a titanium exhaust, a lithium-ion battery, Multimatic dual-mode dampers, revised suspension settings, and high-performance tires. The seating position is lower, and inside there are 12-way seats and carbon fiber paddle shifters. For the first time on the Emira, a removable tinted glass roof panel is offered, and it will be available not just for the 420 Sport but across the entire lineup.
Prices have already been announced: in the US, the Emira 420 Sport starts at $122,900 (about 8.79 million rubles). In Europe, the price is €129,900 (roughly 11.10 million rubles), and in the UK it’s £105,900 (around 10.16 million rubles).
For Lotus, this version also sends a signal: the brand is no longer talking only about electric vehicles. Under the new Focus 2030 strategy, the company is betting on multiple powertrain types, including hybrids. So the Emira 420 Sport doesn’t look like the final chapter; it’s a reminder that a lightweight gasoline sports car still knows how to sell emotion better than any presentation.
