Genesis Magma performance lineup: GV60, Magma GT, G90 Wingback
Just a couple of years ago, Genesis kept its distance from performance. Now the brand is poised for a rapid reinvention. Riding a surge in sales and a stronger foothold in the premium segment, the Koreans are rolling out a full Magma lineup—sport-oriented versions for everything from sedans to full-size SUVs.
The first production model is the GV60 Magma, which essentially borrows its powertrain from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: two electric motors, 601 hp, and 641 hp in Boost mode. For a marque that only recently stood apart from “hot” cars, it’s a meaningful leap—and it hardly feels like the last.
The real showcase, though, came with the concepts. The Magma GT is low, wide, and visually close to production—a supercar with a V8 under the hood. The company makes no secret of it: the project is already technically alive, with both a road-going version and a track-focused variant in the plans. The stance alone suggests they intend to back the look with substance.
The second surprise was the G90 Wingback Magma. It’s a wagon based on the flagship G90, wearing flared arches and an aggressive body kit—an unexpected turn that stole the spotlight. Official details are absent, but the design speaks plainly: a potential alternative to the Audi RS 6 Avant and a bold declaration of where the brand wants to go.
Genesis is saying it outright: Magma will be a core pillar for the next decade. And if even part of what we’ve seen reaches production, the premium performance scene gains a serious new contender.
