Suzuki Jimny Malaysia Getting New Special Edition with Enhanced Safety
Suzuki Cars Malaysia teases a new Jimny variant with improved safety and no extra cost. Likely a special edition, the mystery model could add advanced safety features. More details pending.
Suzuki Cars Malaysia has teased a new Jimny variant. The image shows the vehicle under a white cover, and the caption promises 'increased safety', 'unchanged value', and more adventures at no extra cost.
Official details are still under wraps. The fourth-generation Suzuki Jimny has been on sale globally since 2018, with no word on a new generation or facelift. Given the lack of updates, this is likely another special edition for Malaysia.
Since the Jimny's local launch in 2021, the only major new variant has been the five-door model, priced at around 200,000 ringgit ($50,440). Other additions have been limited-time specials like the Rhino Edition, Rainforest, Black Edition, and Arctic.
The mention of improved safety could hint at extra equipment. Currently, the three-door Jimny in Malaysia comes with two airbags, while the five-door has six. Some speculate an automatic emergency braking system might be added, but this hasn't been confirmed.
It's unclear which price the 'no extra cost' promise applies to: the base model at 159,000 ringgit ($40,100) or the special editions that range from 168,000 to 175,000 ringgit ($42,370 to $44,135). Among top SUVs of 2026, the Jimny remains a niche model, with interest sustained by special editions and its compact size.
